Foxborough (AP) - A field goal seconds before the end of the game has received the playoff chances of the New England Patriots around the German football professional Jakob Johnson.

The fullback from Stuttgart was at 20:17 in almost two thirds of all offensive actions on the field and thus proportionally more often than ever in his career.

With their fifth win of the season, the Patriots kept in touch with the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East and now have a record of five successes and six losses.

Buffalo and Miami also won their games.

The Bills (8: 3) defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 27:17, the Dolphins (7: 4) were clearly superior to the New York Jets with 20: 3.

In the AFC South, the Tennessee Titans won the division duel with the Indianapolis Colts 45:26 and took the lead.

The Titans now have eight wins and three losses, the Colts have seven wins and four losses.

Without their injured quarterback Joe Burrow, the Cincinnati Bengals lost to the New York Giants 17:19.

The Giants only have a record of four wins out of seven defeats, but in the weak NFC East that is currently number one.
