Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The number of new corona infections remains high in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
The State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) reported 46 new cases for Sunday.
On Sunday a week ago it was 35.
On Saturday, 88 confirmed infections were reported after 91 a week earlier.
In comparison to most other federal states, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is still in a good position.
The seven-day incidence, i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week, rose slightly across the country from 46.1 on Saturday to 47.1.
According to Lagus, 121 Covid 19 patients are currently in hospital, seven more than on Saturday.
Of these, 37 need to be treated in intensive care units - an increase of five.
According to the intensive care register, 17 patients have to be ventilated.
183 intensive care beds are currently free in the country.
Most of the new infections were reported with 26 from the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald, which is currently most severely affected by Corona with an incidence of 79.4.
In the neighboring district of Western Pomerania-Rügen, on the other hand, only 12.9 out of 100,000 residents have been infected with the virus in the past seven days.
This is the lowest value in all of MV.
Overall, the four districts of Vorpommern-Greifswald, Mecklenburg Lake District, Ludwigslust-Parchim and Northwest Mecklenburg with values over 50 are classified as corona risk areas.

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, 61 people have died of or with Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Nationwide, 4486 of the 5951 infected so far are considered recovered - according to Lagus, there are 1404 confirmed cases that are acutely infected.
