Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Volunteers have invited to joint online prayer in the Advent season via the Twitter news service.

For example, Seemanspastor Matthias Ristau from Hamburg will organize the service on St. Nicholas Day, as the organizers behind the Twitter account “@twomplet” announced on Saturday.

The regional bishop of the northern church will then lead the morning prayer on December 16.

Since 2014, those responsible behind the Twitter account have been inviting people to night prayer every evening at 9 p.m.

The morning counterpart “@_twaudes” has also been available since the first Advent in 2015.

Volunteer Christians stand behind the two sides and take turns doing the devotions.

"We hope that with our offers we will create another opportunity to experience Advent and Christmas as a joint time of preparation during the current pandemic," said the organizers.
