Leipzig (AP) - The orchestra of the Gewandhaus in Leipzig has started an unusual concert series.

Four horn players played Christmas carols on a rented double-decker sightseeing bus in public places and care facilities in Leipzig.

"The musicians brought a little festive mood to the people in six locations," said the spokesman for the Gewandhaus Orchestra, Dirk Steiner.

"Due to the cold, the musicians can only play up to six pieces on the open upper deck of the bus," Steiner explained.

After three hours, the tour ended again at Augustusplatz at noon.

Further dates are planned for December 5th, 12th and 19th.

The locations are to be published beforehand on the website of the Gewandhausorchester.
