Southeast Asian countries are speeding up the contract to purchase the COVID-19 vaccine.



The Thai government yesterday (27th) signed a contract to purchase 26 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, which is being jointly developed by Oxford University in the UK and AstraZeneca.



It is the amount that can be vaccinated to 13 million people, which is close to one-fifth of the total population of 69 million people in Thailand, with a total amount of $200 million and 221 billion won.



The cumulative number of corona 19 confirmed cases in Thailand is about 3,900.



The Thai government expects to get the vaccine in the middle of next year.



More than 30 companies in the Philippines have also signed contracts to purchase at least 2.6 million doses of Corona 19 vaccine with AstraZeneca.



The Philippine government is discussing a contract with AstraZeneca to purchase an additional 1 million doses, Reuters reported.



In the Philippines, there were more than 425,000 corona19 cumulative confirmed cases and 8,200 deaths.



Malaysia has signed a contract to purchase 12.8 million doses of vaccines that are being jointly developed by US pharmaceutical company Pfizer and Bioentech.



Malaysia is the first in Southeast Asia to purchase a COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer, Reuters reported.



Malaysia has 62,000 confirmed cases, of which 300 have died.
