Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Passengers in local public transport in and around Hamburg have to be prepared for significant restrictions on Saturday.

Because of a full-day warning strike, there are hardly any subways and buses on the Hochbahn and the Hamburg-Holstein transport company (VHH) from the start of operations.

With the work stoppages, the Verdi union wants to increase the pressure on employers, who in turn criticize the warning strike in the middle of the corona pandemic as irresponsible.

It is already the second day of warning strike in local public transport. By mid-October, the underground and bus traffic had almost completely come to a standstill. Only the S-Bahn and regional trains were not affected. Verdi calls for around 7,000 employees in Hamburg, among other things, relief days for shift work, the recording of overtime from the first minute in the case of vehicle delays and a limitation of daily working hours to nine hours. In addition, preparatory and follow-up work should be recognized as working time.
