“We draw the attention of the Russian media to the need to maintain information channels on domestic video hosting sites.

We ask the country's leading Internet companies to help our media in creating and popularizing them, ”the ministry said in a statement.

They also stated that they sent a letter to Google demanding to lift the ban on the work of ANNA NEWS on YouTube.

“A targeted policy of censorship in relation to the Russian media is unacceptable and violates the key principles of free dissemination of information and unhindered access to it.

We demand that all restrictions on access to the ANNA NEWS YouTube channels be lifted as soon as possible, ”the letter from Roskomnadzor says.

In late October, Roskomnadzor announced that the censorship of Russian media by foreign Internet companies had acquired a systemic character.

The department noted that such media outlets include RIA Novosti, RT TV channel, Sputnik and Russia 1.

Roskomnadzor added that companies ignore repeated requests to stop censorship of Russian media.
