In celebration of the 80th anniversary of Bruce Lee's birth, who has already died as a legendary action star, Greater China is excited by an event in honor of him.



The official Global Times reported yesterday (27th) that on the occasion of Bruce Lee's 80th birthday, Chinese fans held an event both online and offline to commemorate his achievements.



The newspaper said, "Bruce Lee was more than a kung fu star for many people," and said, "He broke Western stereotypes about the Chinese and his life and artistic philosophy remain in the hearts of many even after 47 years of death."



From the beginning of this month (November), the '80th Anniversary of Bruce Lee's Birth' was held in Foshan, Guangdong Province, China, where Bruce Lee's hometown, and an exhibition related to Bruce Lee, a contest to find people like him, and online and offline events to reflect on the life of Bruce Lee.



Bruce Lee was born in the United States in 1940 and moved to Hong Kong at the age of 3 months, and then appeared in 23 films, becoming a world-class action star.



At the age of 18, he went back to the United States and appeared in the TV series'Green Hornet', and later returned to Hong Kong, where he appeared in five films, including Dangsan Daehyung, Jeong Moo-moon, Maeng Ryong Guagang, Yong Jing Ho Thou, and Death Yugi.



Bruce Lee died of brain edema at the age of 33 in Hong Kong on July 20, 1973, just three weeks before the release of the movie'Death Play'.



Fosan is planning to become a world-class martial arts culture center by taking advantage of the fact that it is Bruce Lee's hometown, such as holding martial arts competitions with 7,000 participants.



Bruce Lee's daughter, Shannon Lee, posted a post on Bruce.com and recalled, "My father passed away in 1973, but his life continues to inspire us."



The Hong Kong Post Office has launched a special stamp with the theme of'Bruce Lee's Legacy in World Martial Arts'.



On Weibo and others, Chinese netizens celebrated his 80th birthday by sharing videos and photos related to Bruce Lee.



One Chinese netizen praised him as a top-notch hero, saying, "He introduced Chinese martial arts to many parts of the world and allowed the world to recognize Chinese culture."
