Moers (dpa / lnw) - Directly in front of a hospital, a dispute escalated on Friday evening in Moers: A 25-year-old shot his brother-in-law in the thigh, the police said on Saturday.
In addition, the attacker's father hit the brother-in-law with a baseball bat.
The 28-year-old was seriously injured and brought to the hospital, but his life is not in danger.
The attack is said to have been preceded by a physical argument between the three men.
The police also announced that the 25-year-old and his 48-year-old father were arrested.
They should be brought before a judge on Saturday on suspicion of attempted manslaughter.
The background to the dispute was initially unclear, the police spoke of a "family dispute".
A homicide squad is investigating.
