28 November 2020 A 69-year-old from Bari was identified and is currently under house arrest, accused of wrongful death and murder, who yesterday evening hit and killed a 31-year-old cyclist from Triggiano (Bari) on Statale 16, at the height of Torre a Mare.
The agents of the traffic police, coordinated by the prosecutor Chiara Giordano, traced the identity of the driver of the small car, thanks to the videos of the video surveillance cameras in the area. According to an initial reconstruction of the dynamics, the car driven by the 69-year-old would have overwhelmed the cyclist and then fled. At the scene of the accident, investigators also found paint compatible with that of the car owned by the woman, which was traced to her home and arrested already late yesterday evening. Then subjected to alcohol tests, the 69 year old and tested positive.
