- There are no action plans, risk assessments are not made everywhere.

And it is only this week that we talk about what protective equipment the staff should have.

And it has still not been solved how to receive the patients who are suspected of being infected with covid -19.

And we make it safe for those who are not infected, she says.

- It was for several months this spring that we could have sat down and planned, but we are not there.

Director of Health: "A completely new situation"

Health and Medical Director Johan Rosenqvist does not agree with the criticism.

- We are prepared in a completely different way now.

Even though the pandemic has been going on since last spring, it is a new situation.

We are not basically organized to handle pandemics, so we have repeatedly had to adapt, he says.

The fact that risk assessments and action plans have not been made everywhere is an effect of the situation constantly changing, he says.

- We have never in so short a time made so many risk assessments as we did in the spring and autumn.

But it is a complex situation so there are absolute shortcomings in that handling, and we must try to rectify this in dialogue with the union.

Planned for cluster outbreaks

As recently as a couple of months ago, the general perception was that only minor cluster outbreaks of covid-19 were to be expected, says Johan Rosenqvist, but instead it became a second wave.

- Action plans are difficult in a situation where we do not know what will happen.

So I can understand if you feel that there is no very clear plan, but it is basically impossible in this situation, he says.

Want to be listened to

The care association now demands a better dialogue with the regional management where the work environment is given a higher priority.

- It is not possible to sit back, but now it is important to work with different scenarios.

How should we keep the staff?

And how should it be risk-free for both patients and staff to stay in healthcare, says Tora Elfversson Dahlström.
