Abu Dhabi Ports provides capacity to store 70 million doses of "Covid-19" vaccine

Abu Dhabi Ports announced the strengthening of its vital role in the global efforts to combat the "Covid-19" pandemic, by providing advanced logistical capabilities to store and distribute more than 70 million doses of the "Covid-19" vaccine.

Finally, the Emirate of Abu Dhabi witnessed the launch of the “Hope Coalition”, which represents a partnership between the public and private sectors, to support global efforts to distribute new Corona virus vaccines around the world, in light of the expected increase in demand for logistical services dedicated to transporting vaccines, which highlights The regional and global position occupied by the emirate as a logistical center, and the point of intersection of global transit routes.

As part of its commitment to support vaccination campaigns against the disease, Abu Dhabi Ports has allocated advanced cold storage facilities, spanning an area of ​​19,000 square meters, in Khalifa Industrial City, which is the largest facility for storing vaccines in the region, and currently contains more than one million doses of the vaccine «Covid» -19 ».

The facilities are characterized by the ability to store vaccines and other medicinal products at temperatures ranging between two and eight degrees Celsius, in addition to the possibility of frozen storage at temperatures up to (-80) degrees Celsius, and they are equipped with systems to control temperature and humidity digitally through an advanced control panel .

The "Coalition of Hope" provides integrated solutions for the supply chain. It represents leading local and international parties under the leadership of the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, and includes Etihad Shipping, Abu Dhabi Ports, Rafid Healthcare Procurement Company, in addition to the Swiss company, SkySale.
