“I want everyone to understand: I don’t see a purely military solution to the issue in Donbass, and neither do the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Khomchak quotes Novoye Vremya.

He noted that there are several reasons hindering a military solution: violation of international law on military operations in densely populated areas, the possibility of large losses at the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the alleged possibility of Russian intervention.

According to him, the residents of Donbass do not support the Ukrainian military in everything, therefore, “shots in the back” are possible.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent Russia a note of protest in connection with the dispatch of another convoy with humanitarian cargo to Donbass.
