Potsdam (dpa / bb) - After the Prime Minister's appointments with Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU), the Brandenburg cabinet wants to decide on further corona restrictions on Friday.

Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) made it clear on Thursday in the state parliament debate that he wanted to adhere to the resolutions to continue the partial lockdown and tightened contact restrictions.

He called the resolutions "appropriate, proportionate and necessary".

After discussions with Merkel, the Prime Minister's Conference agreed on Wednesday evening to further restrict private contacts between citizens until Christmas and to expand the mask requirement in some areas. The partial lockdown with the closings of restaurants and cultural institutions is to be extended at least until December 20, but probably until next year.
