As noted, Senator Grigory Karasin held an online meeting with the special representative of the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Abashidze with the participation of representatives of the Foreign Ministry and the ministries of transport of the states.

“Prospects for the restoration of air communication between the two countries were touched upon, taking into account the temporary ban on air passenger transportation to Georgia introduced in July last year,” the statement says.

Moscow recalled the conditions for this: an end to anti-Russian manifestations in Georgia and the disappearance of security threats for Russians.

In addition, the department stressed, the sanitary and epidemiological situation should be normalized in both countries.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed confidence that Russian-Georgian relations would be restored and improved.
