On Friday morning, the Kronoberg Region held a digital press conference on the current covid situation in the region.

There was also talk of the impending covid vaccination.

- We plan to start vaccination in January for risk groups and healthcare professionals.

The risk groups are 70+ and certain medical conditions, says primary care and rehab manager Lena Andersson Nazzal.

According to Lena Andersson Nazzal, the vaccination requires logistical planning - a work that is now underway.

But much is still unclear.

- When, and how this will go, is not clear yet.

But we continue the planning and will provide information in the future, she says.

"Must be equal in all regions"

The Kronoberg region plans for them to receive vaccines in smaller deliveries on an ongoing basis.

Something that has been considered in Region Kalmar is how to prioritize, and who in the risk groups should get the vaccine first.

In the Kronoberg Region, it is believed that there will be information from the national side - based on how much vaccine is distributed

- It is a discussion that is going on a lot nationally depending on how much vaccine you get.

It should be the same regardless of which region you live in, says infection control doctor Christan Romin Blomkvist.
