Thanks to first aid measures, a 67-year-old man was saved.

On Wednesday evening, the firefighters of the Castelnau d'Auzan fire and rescue center, in the Gers, were called to help this sixty-year-old victim of cardiac arrest.

By the time the firefighters arrived on the scene, witnesses present on the spot carried out the first survival actions, advised by telephone by the emergency services.

But it is above all the intervention of a "good samaritan", warned by the Staying alive application, which allowed the victim to get out.

This unexpected savior was alerted to this medical emergency by the application and went to the bedside of the sexagenarian.

“The victim had just made a breathing movement when I arrived.

I removed the cushion under her head to free her airways, took her radial pulse, and placed her in a safe lateral position after her resumption of noisy but present ventilatory activity, ”he says.

Volunteer firefighter from the Castelnau d'Auzan barracks, currently on sick leave, he had downloaded this application a year before.

This is the first time he has been asked, with success.

Thanks to these gestures, the victim resumed cardiac and ventilatory activity before the arrival of the firefighters.
