November 27, 2020The new trial of principals and financiers on the massacre of August 2, 1980 opened today in Bologna. The defendants with request for indictment are Paolo Bellini, former national avant-garde, considered an executor of the massacre, in competition with the convicted Nar and with Licio Gelli, Umberto Ortolani, Federico Umberto D'Amato and Mario Tedeschi, all deceased and believed to be principals, financiers or organizers of the attack.

Request for judgment also for the former general of the Sisde Quintino Spella and the former carabiniere Piergiorgio Segatel, for misdirection, and Domenico Catracchia, condominium administrator of properties in via Gradoli in Rome for false information to the prosecutor in order to divert the investigations.

In particular, Bellini, in the notice of investigation conclusions, is indicated as the material executor of the attack together with Valerio Fioravanti, Francesca Mambro, Luigi Ciavardini (already definitively convicted), Gilberto Cavallini (convicted in the first degree for complicity in massacre l 'last year) and "with other people to identify".

Bellini would then have acted, according to the accusation, in competition with Licio Gelli, Umberto Ortolani, Federico Umberto D'Amato and Mario Tedeschi, all of whom died.

Gelli and Ortolani are referred to as "principals-financiers" of the massacre, while D'Amato, former director of the Viminale's Reserved Affairs Office, as the "principal-organizer" and Mario Tedeschi (journalist and politician affiliated with the P2 of Gelli) as " organizer, for having assisted D'Amato in the media management of the massacre event, preparatory and subsequent to it, as well as in the activity of detecting the investigations ".

The Public Prosecutor of Bologna, as part of the investigation into the principals and financiers of the massacre, analyzed the movement of bank accounts and, in particular, of the 'Bologna' account, referable to the head of the P2 Lodge Licio Gelli, coming to the conclusion that the subversive operation that resulted in the attack of 2 August 1980, was carried out by men of the P2 and had an economic advance between 16 February 1979 and 30 July 1980, three days before the massacre, and an economic balance that it begins to settle since August 22, 1980.

The victims' families

are a civil party, as well as the Municipality of Bologna and the Emilia-Romagna Region, for which the vice president Elly Schlein is present.

In the classroom, behind closed doors, Bellini is also present, with his defender.

"Today is certainly the beginning of a historic process, because it will most likely lead to the complete truth about the Bologna massacre.
