To attract more people to apply for the education, the authority is now investing in a new recruitment campaign - a reality series that is broadcast on social media.

There, the viewer gets to follow four police officers in Helsingborg in their daily work.

- Here you get an insight into the everyday life of the police and the work we do.

I think it creates greater understanding and more respect for what we do, says Mona Persson, intervention police Helsingborg.

As SVT Nyheter Helsingborg previously reported, the series has provoked many reactions and after criticism, the police decided on Thursday to remake an episode.

- We got a very big response to our film about the intervention police everyday and it is very fun.

But at the same time, there were some questions about certain sequences in one of the films and while waiting to investigate and double-check some of these questions, we chose to pause the film, says Per Ek, press officer at the police.

Many do not pass the test

A record number have applied to the country's police academies this year and the number of training places has been increased from 950 last year to 1020 this year.

Despite this, only 794 people entered the training three weeks into the autumn term.

According to the police, this includes the pandemic, but also that many do not pass the tests that are performed.

- There are many who drop out because they do not have the right grade requirements and of those who come to the test, most drop out in talent, personality test and psychological assessment, says Anders Henckel, group manager of basic training at the police.
