Böblingen (dpa / lsw) - Three people were seriously injured in a traffic accident in an underpass of the federal highway 464 near Holzgerlingen (Böblingen district).
The car of a 21-year-old had got into the oncoming lane in the underpass on Wednesday evening for an unknown reason and collided there with an oncoming car, the police said.
The driver of a van that followed was unable to stop in time and crashed into the scene of the accident.
The driver of the oncoming car, a 75-year-old woman, was trapped in her car in the accident.
She had to be freed from her car by the fire department.
All three people involved in the accident were brought to the surrounding hospitals by the rescue service with serious injuries.
The underpass of the B464 was temporarily closed.
