- Measuring Stenevi is a stable and unifying force ahead of the impending election movement, the nomination committee convener Katrin Wissing at a press conference.

- It is a person who has the potential to make our policy important for new voters, she continues.

Märta Stenevi herself says at the same press conference that she is happy and proud of the nomination committee's trust and she is convinced that the party will be able to grow in public opinion.

- If the Green Party is to be able to grow, it will not be enough that we are radical enough for the Greta generation, but we must also get their mothers and fathers to vote for us, she says.

A new mouthpiece will be elected on 31 January

After the party's current female spokesperson, Minister of Climate Isabella Lövin, announced at the end of August that she was leaving politics, as many as 8 people have announced that they want to take over.

In addition to Stenevi, Minister for Gender Equality Åsa Lindhagen, members of the Riksdag Karolina Skog, Janine Alm-Ericson, Rebecka Le Moine, Annika Hirvonen, Pernilla Stålhammar and municipal politician Elin Söderberg are candidates.

The new mouthpiece will be elected at an extra congress on 31 January next year.

Unlike other parties, the representatives at the Green Party's congresses are not bound to vote in line with their party districts, which is why the outcome of the election can sometimes be difficult to predict.

For example, Märta Stenevi was elected party secretary at the congress last year, even though she was not the nomination committee's candidate.
