Ueckermünde (dpa / mv) - In connection with gas station robberies in Western Pomerania, the police arrested two suspects in the Ueckermünde region (Vorpommern-Greifswald district).

These are two 20 and 22 year old men who have already confessed to two attacks, as a police spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

Their homes have been searched.

Information on the motif has not yet been given.

In October, two gas stations in Ueckermünde and just a few days ago another gas station in neighboring Eggesin were attacked.

In the first case, the masked perpetrators threatened an employee with a pistol, stole cash, and fled.

Almost two weeks later, an operator of another petrol station put the two robbers to flight.

The 62-year-old owner of the petrol station came along when an employee was threatened by the masked duo with "pistol-like objects".

The man attacked one of the robbers, after a brief scramble, the perpetrators fled on foot and without prey.

Nobody got hurt.
