A network of parents, Koran schools, mosque communities, imams and Muslim associations tries to anchor as much as possible of the Islamic religion, culture and tradition in German school life.

At the same time, it strives to limit the supposed negative influences of Christianity, Judaism or sexual freedom.

Again and again, Muslim fathers and mothers stand out as religious guardians through persistent complaints and presumptuous demands, which sometimes demand tough defensive battles from the teachers. Religious, cultural and ethnic conflicts, however, rarely break out directly in class. The scene of the clashes is the schoolyard.
