18 October 2019 A 6-year-old boy was transported to the hospital after falling into the stairwell on the second floor of his school in Milan, the "Pirelli" in via Goffredo da Bussero.

His condition is considered serious.

The incident occurred at 9.45am.

According to the first reconstruction of the carabinieri, the child would have climbed over the railing and ended up falling into the void.

The lack of supervision of the child by teachers or school collaborators is the main hypothesis on which the Prosecutor's Office is working in the investigation of the small precipitate.

In the next few hours there may be the first entries in the register of suspects.

From the first surveys, however, no irregularities emerged on the railing of the stairs whose bars (the tie rods) were separated by a distance of only 12 centimeters.

The prosecutor Francesco Ciardi, in fact, is currently viewing the regulations of the school and the various regulations, including internal ones, on the responsibilities in the supervision of pupils and in the next few hours there could be the first entries in the register of suspects, also as a form of guarantee to carry out all useful investigations.

The file is for culpable injury.

From the first surveys of the forensic police, however, no irregularities emerged on the railing of the stairs whose bars (the tie rods) were separated by a distance of only 12 centimeters and therefore difficult to cross, even by the body of a child.

It is certain that the child left the classroom to go to the bathroom and, on his way back to class, he fell for reasons and with a dynamic yet to be clarified.

The investigators want to understand if the teachers and collaborators had the task of watching over the child when he went to the bathroom.

Galimberti: waiting to understand how the child tragedy could have happened

'We are close to the family of the little

boy

from the Pirelli Primary School, we suffer with them and we are sure that the doctors are doing everything possible.

We are also waiting to understand how a tragedy like this could have happened ''.

This is said by the Councilor for Education of the Municipality of Milan, Laura Galimberti on the case of the 6-year-old boy who fell into the stairwell of his school.
