The Marseille police prefect, Emmanuel Barbe, in post for nine months in the Marseille city, was replaced Wednesday in the Council of Ministers by Frédérique Camilleri, current deputy director of the cabinet of the Paris police prefect Didier Lallement.

No indication has been officially given on the reasons for the departure of Emmanuel Barbe.

Frédérique Camilleri, who succeeds him, has already been stationed in Marseille as secretary general of the southern defense and security zone.
