Neubrandenburg (dpa / mv) - The trial of manslaughter against a 31-year-old man from Pasewalk (Vorpommern-Greifswald) will continue on Wednesday at the Neubrandenburg regional court.

The district court wants to first hear a witness and the psychiatric expert in camera.

After the pleadings, the verdict will be announced publicly in the afternoon.

The prosecutor accuses the defendant of having killed a 42-year-old friend in front of an apartment building in Pasewalk's Oststadt in May 2020.

According to forensic doctors, the man is said to have stabbed the victim up to 15 times.

The act is said to have been preceded by a dispute several hours earlier.

Then the defendant is said to have fetched a knife with a 19 centimeter long blade from his apartment.

The victim died on the scene.

The 31-year-old, who has a criminal record, is said to have been drunk according to his lawyers and can no longer remember the bloody act.

According to the court, the public was excluded because the man could be placed in a psychiatric detention hospital.
