It was when the pandemic broke out in March this year that the assistant nurse and safety representative Elizabeth Laursen and her colleagues decided to try to isolate the wards in the accommodation from each other.

- When corona came, we fought a lot to isolate the healthy wards from the sick and so that staff would not run back and forth between the wards, says Elizabeth Laursen.

Protective equipment

According to her, the staffing did not go together either, so there were many double shifts and a lot of puzzles with schedules to make it work.

They also had to struggle to get protective equipment that did not exist from the beginning.

- It was chaotic.

Of course, no one should risk their lives at work.

It is important to protect both colleagues and residents.
