Corona deniers apparently try again and again in Hamburg to come into contact with students, parents and teachers.

After it became known two weeks ago that at least the management of a Hamburg school had forwarded e-mails from the school authority and the associated internal e-mail distribution list to corona deniers, the Senate response to a request from the left now shows that this is not an isolated case has been.

As reported by the NDR, the Senate's response lists 20 incidents within this school year.

In Bergedorf alone there were at least three cases.

Corona deniers distributed leaflets in the vicinity of a school, sprayed slogans on the asphalt in front of another school and, with the help of a notice on a school gate, represented the untrue thesis that there were "already three dead students" through protective masks.

Opposite the broadcaster, Sabine Boeddinghaus, a left school expert, is appalled by the penetration of the corona deniers "into the protected area of ​​schools" and calls for such actions to be stopped.

In its answer, the Senate refers to several contact persons in the school authorities who could be contacted for help with problems with corona deniers.

The number of new infections in Hamburg increases by 363

As the school authority announced on Wednesday, 54 new infections were reported in 40 schools on Tuesday.

39 of them are schoolchildren, 15 of them school employees.

In total, there would be 518 infections with the coronavirus from people from the school context at 177 schools.

433 schoolchildren (0.17 percent of the student body) and 85 school employees (0.25 percent of the employees) are affected.

Of 9500 classes across Hamburg, 90 are currently in quarantine.

This affects 2917 school students (1.1 percent of the student body) and 251 school employees.

Overall, the number of confirmed new corona infections in Hamburg rose by 363 on Wednesday.

The important warning value - the number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days - rose from 131.7 to 137.9 as the health authority announced on the Internet.

On Tuesday, the number of registered new corona infections rose by 392.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 23,694 people in Hamburg have been proven to be infected with the corona virus.

According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), around 14,600 of them are now considered recovered.

As of Tuesday, 312 Covid 19 patients were treated in Hamburg's hospitals and clinics, one more than on Monday.

There were 88 Covid 19 patients in intensive care units, two fewer than on Monday.

The number of people who have died of Covid-19 in Hamburg since the beginning of the pandemic has remained unchanged at 281.

As of Wednesday, the RKI reported 347 deaths for the Hanseatic city - eight more than the previous day.

The Hamburg health authority has all dead corona patients autopsied.

The Institute of Forensic Medicine then counts all cases in which someone has died of Covid-19 on this basis.

The RKI counts all people who have died in connection with a Sars-CoV-2 infection.

Business wants to support the city with logistics for vaccinations

Meanwhile, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce has assured the Senate of its support, among other things, with the logistics for a vaccination against the coronavirus.

"The Hamburg economy is ready to make its contribution to overcoming the pandemic quickly," said Chamber of Commerce President Norbert Aust on Wednesday shortly before the start of the deliberations between the Prime Ministers of the federal states and Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU).

"One encouragement is the rapid availability of the vaccine," said Aust.

The Chamber of Commerce wants to support vaccination workers with, among other things, accommodation and logistics.

On the other hand, private radio providers can count on support from the city.

With around 850,000 euros, Hamburg wants to help private radio providers who lost high advertising revenues during the corona pandemic.

The funds were made available from the federal program "Neustart Kultur", as the culture authority announced on Wednesday.

Six Hamburg radio broadcasters, who were able to demonstrate considerable losses in sales, have received corresponding applications.

Nationwide, 20 million euros are available to support private radio broadcasters.

"Especially in times of crisis, local radio stations play an important role," said Senator for Culture Carsten Brosda (SPD).

The private broadcasters would make a significant contribution to the diversity of the radio landscape, in particular through information and entertainment offers with a local theme.

"We want to support this diversity."

Schmidt-Chanasit: 50 warning value "cannot be achieved in the next few months"

Also before the federal-state consultations on how to proceed in the corona pandemic, the Hamburg virologist Jonas Schmidt-Chanasit again pleaded for targeted measures in an interview with Bayerischer Rundfunk.

"We have to get to exactly the points where the infections mainly occur, arise and specifically sharpen there," said the scientist on Wednesday.

It makes less sense to enact broad measures "which are difficult to implement and control and which do not have the effect that we actually hope for".

For the virologist, the goal is clear: "A reduction in the number of infections and, above all, we all agree to avoid overloading the health system." One point is the avoidance of risky contacts.

"But there are certainly different ways of achieving this," said Schmidt-Chanasit.

Above all, he sees the behavior of the population as decisive.

“And I can influence that without any additional measures.

It all depends on whether the population participates to a certain extent or not, ”said the virologist.

However, the virologist added that the value of 50 infections per 100,000 residents in seven days “cannot be achieved in the next few months in my opinion”.

Schmidt-Chanasit had already emphasized before the partial lockdown began in November that the protective rules with a distance, hygiene, masks and corona warning app were actually sufficient.

They just have to be implemented consistently.
