25 November 2020 The government is not enough a week of time from two resignations and the step backwards of Eugenio Gaudio to appoint a new Calabrian health commissioner.

The names that ran until yesterday, Narciso Mostarda, doctor who heads ASL Roma 6 and Luigi Varratta, former prefect of Reggio Calabria, do not overcome the cross vetoes of the majority parties.

The first is considered close to the Pd, the second is supported by the M5s.

The story has been embarrassing the government for weeks after Commissioner Saverio Cotticelli had to resign for having revealed on the Rai3 broadcast 'Title V' that he did not know he had to prepare the anti-covid plan of the Calabria region.

They are then a few days after the resignation of his successor Giuseppe Zuccatelli, for a video in which he claims that the masks are useless, and finally the former rector of Sapienza who after being indicated as commissioner claims that he cannot go to Calabria for opposition from his wife.

Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and Health Minister Roberto Speranza hoped to end the game in the evening, but a confrontation that lasted hours failed to untie the knot.

The Council of Ministers begins at 9 pm, three hours late with respect to the call, and is declared closed at 1 am, after a two-hour suspension.

The comparison, it is reported by the agencies, is inflamed especially in the meetings held on the sidelines of the CDM in which Calabrian health care is discussed.

From the same sources it also transpires that the hypothesis of asking Agostino Miozzo, current coordinator of the CTS, to fill the position would have arisen.
