Homberg (Ohm) (dpa / lhe) - After activists crashed several times during the A49 protests in the Dannenröder forest, the forest occupiers are demanding an eviction stop.

Today they want to inform about the incidents and how to proceed.

In the past few days there had been several incidents in which activists almost or actually fell from a great height.

Subsequently, the Federation for Environment and Nature Conservation wants to reiterate its call for a clearing stop.

In protest against the further construction of the A49 and the associated clearing, environmentalists and activists have occupied the forest area and erected tree houses and barricades there. The police are gradually evacuating the area. A total of around 85 hectares of forest are to be cleared to close the gap on the A49, 27 of them in the Dannenröder forest. Opponents reject the transport project, for which there is building law, for reasons of climate protection. Proponents hope for less traffic and better road connections.
