Coronavirus: The Government's plan for Christmas: Christmas Eve dinners for a maximum of six people and a curfew at one

The Executive's plan to save Christmas from the coronavirus involves minimizing the participants in social gatherings and reinforcing the measures that each autonomy establishes in health matters. Thus, the proposal that the Executive has launched leaves the possibility of each region in the hands of move to other territories, the conditions in which the trade must operate or the time at which the curfew is imposed.
A Christmas situation that, a few weeks after its celebration

Can I organize a Christmas lunch or dinner?
The Government plan recommends in its draft limit this type of celebrations to the scope of family coexistence;
that is to say, to the members of the own domestic unit.
However, if any "non-regular outsider" member participates, the maximum number of participants is limited to six people. The Executive also requests "avoid or minimize meetings in the social sphere", such as work celebrations, groups of friends, former students or members of sports clubs.
"If it is held, it will be a maximum of six people and preferably abroad," it is stressed. The draft insists that "those people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 should not attend any family or social gathering" and are still in the period of transmissibility, have symptoms, are waiting for the test results or have had contact with a positive in the last 14 days. It is also invited to "use the mask when you are not eating or drinking and avoid pecking ", to minimize contact between diners.
Can I go out at night to celebrate the parties?
It will be possible, but with reduced hours, since the curfew will continue in force.
In this sense, the Government refers to the schedule that each autonomous community decides to establish night confinement.
After the curfew, and as it already happens, it will be forbidden to go out on the street except for justified reasons.However, the Executive expresses in the draft the idea that on December 24 and 31, coinciding with Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, slightly extend the hours.
As indicated, the limitation of mobility will be fixed those two nights between 1:00 and 6:00 in the morning. In this context, it is recalled in the plan "that the consumption of alcohol is not authorized on public roads, nor the consumption of tobacco and assimilates when a minimum interpersonal distance of at least two meters cannot be respected ".
Can I move to other autonomous communities or travel in Spain?
The draft of the health plan proposes "to avoid as a general rule those trips that are not strictly necessary", and takes advantage of the "regulations that are applied at that time in the destination territory" to define whether it can be accessed or not.
At the moment, no region has proposed the perimeter closure for the holidays. "In the event that exceptionally a trip is to be made in the national territory, both intercommunity and intracommunity, it must be done safely: complying with the recommendations indicated in each means of transport, using a mask, frequent hand washing and maintaining physical distance ", the text emphasizes.
Can those who live abroad return to Spain?
They can return to celebrate the holidays as a family, but they will be required to have a negative diagnostic test carried out in the 72 hours prior to the flight upon arrival at the airport, as long as they come from "a country or risk zone of those listed in Annex II of the
Resolution of November 11 of the General Directorate of Public Health
". In the event that said proof is not provided, it will be carried out in the same airport facilities. Regarding the departure from Spain to abroad on Christmas dates, the Government refers" to the rules or restrictions that apply in destination countries.

Should my son, who is a college student, take precautions when he returns home?
This is recommended by the Government.
In the action plan, he asks that university students who return to their places of origin for the holidays "limit social interactions the days before they return home and take extreme prevention measures", to avoid contagion. "Once in home, they should try to limit contacts, interact especially outdoors instead of indoors, and wear masks, "he insists as a proposal.
Can I make visits to nursing homes?
The document clarifies that "during the Christmas season, the number of visits to the centers may be increased, ensuring that hygiene and prevention measures and the safety distance are met."
In addition, it states that "upon re-entry of a resident in a socio-sanitary center, a diagnostic test for active infection will be carried out and the days after re-entry, surveillance and prevention measures will be carried out."
Will there be parades of the Kings or other Christmas events through the streets?
The Government recommends not holding parades or other mass celebrations at street level.
"They suppose situations of high risk of transmission due to the high number of attendees, the intensity of contact and difficulty in mitigating the associated risks," explains the draft. However, the Executive refers to another document, the

Can I run the San Silvestre?
In principle, the Executive does not oppose its celebration.
It requires, of course, that the sports event "does not interfere with the time limitation of night mobility and using strategies to reduce contact between runners", such as limited capacity, staggered departures or spreading participation over several days.
It is also recommended that it be carried out without an audience and that it be broadcast on television.
However, in many localities (including Madrid, where the best-known end-of-the-year test is held, the San Silvestre Vallecana) it has already been decided to call the race virtually and thus avoid concentrations.
Can I do the typical Christmas shopping?
The Government's plan is to leave in the hands of the autonomous communities the conditions under which small businesses, large stores or Christmas markets can operate. However, it is strongly recommended to "organize purchases in advance to avoid large crowds in the streets and shopping centers ".
