"I didn't do this too much for the old man."

As China rapidly enters the digital society, criticism is pouring out in China as even 94-year-olds are pulled up on the facial recognizer and authenticated.

On the 24th, on Weibo (Chinese version of Twitter), a 94-year-old grandmother in Hubei province visited a bank to open a social security card and was hugged by someone.

In the photo, a grandmother who seems uncomfortable moves while being held by her son, bending her knees and barely receiving facial recognition.

The old man, supported by his son and daughter-in-law, visited a bank branch 300 meters from his home.

However, the old man could not put his face to the bank's face recognizer on his own.

Eventually, my son, who was supporting him, was able to lift the old man and touch it to the face recognizer, and manage financial affairs.

There was a bank employee here, but it is said that no other measures were taken, such as guiding you to other counters.

In response, a Chinese netizen exclaimed, "Can we give a chair to the grandmother or take care to handle it in a separate space in the bank?"

The bank apologized for "correcting" the old man's house when accusations were poured out.

An official from the Bank of China said, "The guidelines for providing fair services to the elderly and the disabled have already existed since 2009, but they are not being implemented well as other tasks are prioritized in the field."

In this regard, Chinese netizens have asked the Chinese authorities to come up with a plan to care for the elderly in the digital age.
