ICRC President Peter Maurer told RBC about this in an interview.

“Over the past six weeks, we have radically changed the nature of this mission.

We realized as the conflict erupted that we needed to do more.

If before the war the budget of our mission in the region was 10 million Swiss francs, then next year it will be 45 million. That is, we will quadruple our presence, ”he said.

Maurer added that the organization will send an additional 400-500 people to the region; the ICRC has offices in Yerevan, Baku and Barda.

“Now we are returning people to Stepanakert and will open one or two more offices to be closer to those who were forced to leave their homes, to be closer to their needs,” he added.

Earlier, the Russian Emergencies Ministry handed over to the ICRC a list of those missing during the armed conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
