Europe 1 revealed Tuesday that police officers fined 45 people who attended a birthday party in a café in Marseille on the night of Saturday to Sunday.

Without a mask or credible justification, the revelers all received two fines totaling 270 euros.

The organizer was taken into custody.

This is yet another example of non-compliance with confinement and barrier gestures which is revealed this Tuesday by Europe 1. This time, it is in Marseille that the facts took place.

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, the police fined 45 revelers who were celebrating ... a birthday!

The story began when the residents of rue Berlioz, who frankly didn't like the music or the noise downstairs from their homes, called the police around two in the morning.

Close to the prefecture, in the city center, officials therefore intervened in this café, "Le Loft", which is supposed to be closed like all other bars and restaurants.

Each party animal received two fines of 135 euros: one for not wearing a mask and a second for failing to comply with confinement.

In any case, the authorities' reaction was also aimed at "making them aware of the risks", insists the Bouches-du-Rhône police headquarters, which welcomes "the responsiveness of the police".

And the Marseilles police officers did not only verbalize.

They also arrested the alleged organizer of the evening, who was taken into custody for "endangering the lives of others".
