  According to reports, this agreement is the first bilateral agreement based on national defense and security issues signed by Greece after World War II, and it is also the largest agreement reached between two countries that currently do not have border clauses and bilateral agreements in other areas.

It is said that this agreement was originally scheduled to be signed in Athens, the capital of Greece, in September. However, based on the importance of strategic cooperation, the agreement was officially signed during his visit to the UAE in accordance with the request of Greek Prime Minister Mizotakis.

  The Greek side emphasized that this agreement is completely defensive, conforms to the spirit of the "United Nations Charter," and is not aimed at any third party.

The agreement aims to protect Greece’s national security and territorial integrity, and maintain regional security, peace, and stability.
