Proud to be a gamer (POG ry), a charity founded by domestic esports, has donated game consoles and accessories for the Christmas gift collection for 3,000 euros.
POG ry has donated seven PlayStation consoles (3x PS4 Pro 1TB, 4x PS4 Slim 1TB), 14 controllers or 2 per console, as well as five FIFA 20 games and two NHL 21 games, together with Shelter Gameroom, a gaming space located in Helsinki's Kalasatama.
The product package has been donated to the joint Christmas gift collection of Shopping Center Red and Hope, to which the donations will be packaged this week as part of the weekly task of the Big Brother Finland program.
- We are now getting new game consoles for seven families, which will allow even more children and young people to get into gaming, Valtteri Palonkorpi, the chairman of POG ry, comments in the press release.
POG ry is an esports charity founded in the spring of 2019, which includes Joel Harkimo, Diili-winner Olli-Pekka Villa and HAVU's CS team coach Taneli “Disturbed” Veikkola.
During November, charity has also been done by HAVU Gaming and Yle E-Sports, both of which raised money during Nose Day Week.
HAVU made a 24-hour live broadcast to Twitch, during which they played, answered viewers ’questions, and practiced.
Yle, on the other hand, together with FinnRuns ry, showed a speedrun broadcast, in which games were played through as quickly as possible.
HAVU collected 1502 euros and Yle 1555 € with its shipment.
On Nose Day, funds are raised for charity to improve the status of children around the world.
