Monday evening, a migrant camp was dismantled, on the Place de la République in Paris, during a muscular police operation which made the Minister of the Interior, Gerald Darmanin react.

On Europe 1, journalist Rémy Busine said he was hit on the ground by a police officer.

TESTIMONY

Several hundred migrants, wandering since the evacuation of a large exile camp last week, set up a new camp in central Paris on Monday, which the police forcefully dismantled in the evening, in particular by using tear gas.

Rémy Buisine, journalist for the online media Brut, covered the entire scene.

At the microphone of Europe 1, he claims to have been hit on the ground by a police officer.

"It went completely wrong, the police intervened. They tore down the tents, which were also confiscated. We, as journalists, were hindered on numerous occasions. We were beaten. We were pushed around. . We kept saying that we were the press but that didn't change anything. There is even a policeman who, after I found myself on the ground with one foot on my leg, said to me: 'Never two without three '", says the journalist.

"The obstacles to the freedom of the press are all reprehensible"

"I hope there will be a very strong reaction to what happened because the reality of tonight leaves her speechless, speechless. She is overwhelming, not for us journalists but for them [the migrants]. Tonight, if I am touched, it is not for me. Unfortunately, what I have experienced this evening, I have already experienced it many times. The obstacles to freedom of the press are all condemnable. They must not exist. But what is all the more serious is what happened with them [the migrants] this evening, "denounces Rémy Buisine.

Some images of the dispersal of the illegal migrant encampment on Place de la République are shocking.

I have just requested a detailed report on the reality of the facts from the Prefect of Police by midday tomorrow.

I will make decisions upon receipt.
