It is shocking to know that the mother-in-law in China abused her daughter-in-law for being unable to give birth to children.

The husband also helped, rather than stop the abuse of his mother-in-law.

The first trial court in China also sentenced these parents and husbands to punishment with a cotton bat of 2-3 years imprisonment, and in the end, the second trial court decided on retrial.

According to the China Daily and the US CNN broadcast on the 24th, the Intermediate People's Court of Dezhou City in Shandong Province, China, canceled the first trial of the People's Court in connection with the trial of abuse of a controversial 22-year-old Pang-mo woman whose punishment level was too low. I asked for a review.

The Dezhou Court also pointed out procedural problems, saying that the trial was not open publicly, although the trial did not infringe on public interest or privacy.

The People's Court, conscious of the angry public opinion, issued a statement and said it would hold the trial again on the 19th after the second trial, but at the request of Mr. Fang, the schedule was temporarily delayed.

Earlier, in January, the Yucheng People's Court sentenced the mother-in-law to three years in prison and two years in February respectively on charges of abusing Mr. Pang Mo.

Her husband, mother-in-law, was sentenced to two years in prison and three years probation on the same charges.

According to the court ruling, her mother-in-law and her husband, Jang, accused Fang of being unable to become pregnant, starved without feeding, beaten with a timber, and were abused, such as standing outside in the cold winter.

The abuse continued after marriage, and the day of Fang's death is known to have continued throughout the day.

Fang married in July 2018 and died on January 31 of the following year, six months later.

Jang and his parents, however, were handed over to trial on charges of family abuse, not murder charges.

Under current Chinese law, the highest sentence for abuse is 7 years in prison, which is much lower.

The Yucheng People's Court stated the reason for the sentence, saying that the family paid 50,000 yuan (about 8.45 million won) for damages themselves, confessed to the crime, and showed signs of reflection.

After the ruling came out, criticism has been rising in China, centering on social media (SNS).

In the Chinese version of Weibo, Twitter, the number of hashtag articles dealing with the ruling exceeded 290 million times, and comments criticizing it continued.

One netizen resentful, saying, "In the case of my husband, he was sentenced to a light sentence because he had a shield called marriage."

In addition, comments such as "the responsibility of infertility is shifted to women more than men", "laws and social systems do not properly protect women", and "courts are too tolerant of violence against women" were poured out.

In particular, it was pointed out that owning a model pistol toy faces severe punishment, but it is too light for punishment for those who killed a woman.

In 2015, in China, an 18-year-old boy bought 24 toy pistols at an online shopping mall in Taiwan and was sentenced to life imprisonment in the first trial court, and the sentence was lowered at the second trial, but even that reached 7 years.
