Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - In the corona pandemic, more and more doctors and psychotherapists are offering video consultation hours in Saarland.
At the end of 2019, three doctors had the appropriate approval, their number is currently 524 doctors and psychotherapists, as the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV) Saarland announced on Tuesday in Saarbrücken.
In July, August and September a total of 3900 consultation hours were made via video switch, around 75 percent with psychotherapists.
The doctors used the virtual treatment room primarily to discuss examination results, but also for discussions with patients without examinations or anamnesis, the KV further announced.
General practitioner Martina Hoffmann-Kümmel said: "The main advantage is that patients do not have to come to the practice if they just want to discuss something."
The offer is often used by "regular patients who are afraid of Corona".
