A number of Amazon customers traded pictures of the new PlayStation 5 (PlayStation 5) bags, which they were surprised to find that it contains rice, cat food and other products instead of the device expected several months ago.

The British journalist, Pix May, on her Twitter account, published a video clip, to document the moment of opening the device box, but she was surprised by an unwanted air fryer, describing what happened as a trick from Amazon.

Dozens of what happened to them interacted with her, as one of the tweeters replied, "The exact same thing happened to me, except that I got rice."

Happy # PS5 day everyone.

Tried to document our one's unveiling, but Amazon have tricked us with an unsolicited air fryer instead (after giving delivery password).

Anyone else had this problem today?

Another tweet said, "Exactly the same thing happened to me, I got George Foreman's grill! It looks like the box has been opened at some point too."

I've had exactly the same happen to me, except I got rice.

"Now I can't get a replacement, because there is no stock anywhere in the UK even though I pre-ordered it two months ago!"

For his part, the Amazon technical support account on Twitter responded to the customers' tweets, saying: "We are sorry to hear that you have received the incorrect item in your order. This is not the experience we want for our customers, you can request refund options (exchange)."

Hi @amazonuk, it's now been more than 48 hours and I haven't heard anything from you about this missing # PS5.

Was promised would hear back in 24-48 hours while you conduct your investigation… # AmazonPS5Scam @AmazonHelp https://t.co/DohPlzfhrX

And May returned to tweet again after 48 hours, saying, "Hello Amazon, it has now been more than 48 hours and I have not heard anything from you about the lost PlayStation 5, and I promised to hear the response within 24-48 hours to conduct your investigations."

And she added in another tweet, "More cases of Amazon fraud, as their Playstation 5 orders are replaced by random household items."
