The Algerian Abou Obeida Youssouf al-Annabi succeeded the jihadist Abdelmalek Droukdel, killed in June by the French armed forces, at the head of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (Aqmi).

This man, who led the jihad in Algeria in the early 1990s, had been the head of the AQIM Advisory Council since 2016.

He had agreed in May 2019 to respond by audio message to a series of 12 questions asked by Wassim Nasr.
