Hanover (dpa / lni) - Parents in Lower Saxony are compensated by the state if they have to look after their children at home.

A loss of earnings can be compensated by state benefits if children up to the age of twelve have to study at home, said ministry spokeswoman Anne Hage of the "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung" on Monday.

"Coordinations between the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Culture have made it clear that the change to scenario B will in fact lead to an entry ban for those pupils who are taught at home."

In scenario B, students are no longer taught in school but at home.

Last week, the Ministry of Social Affairs rejected default payments.
