Flensburg (dpa / lno) - Flensburg's city president Hannes Fuhrig has called on the people of Flensburg to put candles in the window next Saturday at 6 p.m.

The action on the eve of the first Advent should be a sign of connection and solidarity in these times of corona-related, limited social contacts, the city announced on Monday.

At the same time, many church bells in Flensburg and Harrislee (Schleswig-Flensburg district) should ring.

Warm light and sound should reach the soul directly and awaken emotional closeness, it is said.

The campaign, of which the mayor is the patron, was initiated by the “Seelesole” association.

According to its own statements, the association helps adolescents in puberty, but also adults in the search for meaning in life and in accessing their own feelings.
