Neubrandenburg / Rostock / Schwerin (dpa / mv) - In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, around 1000 people again protested against the Corona restrictions on Monday evening.

As police spokesman in Rostock and Neubrandenburg announced, there were protests in Rostock, Schwerin, Güstrow, Stralsund, Neubrandenburg and Waren an der Müritz.

With around 300 participants, the demonstration on the Neuer Markt in Rostock was the most popular.

During the protest walks, slogans such as “Peace, freedom, no dictatorship” were shouted.

Several speakers announced a joint protest by all groups in Schwerin on December 5th.

In Schwerin and Rostock the police reported isolated counter-actions by left-wing groups, but these remained without problems.

According to the police, there were also no notable violations of the Infection Protection Act or other legal requirements among the demonstrators.

In the northeast there are by far the fewest confirmed coronavirus infections nationwide.

The weekly value on Monday was 48.5 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants - and thus almost as high as on Monday two weeks ago.
