Ulm (dpa / lsw) - In protest against the corona policy of the federal and state governments, supporters of the so-called lateral thinkers drove through Ulm in a car parade on Monday.

Apart from traffic obstructions, the protest drive during the evening rush hour was initially without any significant incidents, as a police spokesman said.

Numerous emergency services had ensured that the registered parade proceeded properly and that the health protection of the population was maintained at the same time.

The city of Ulm had initially forbidden the registered car parade of the "lateral thinkers" through the city center.

The Sigmaringen administrative court then approved the parade on Monday with a view to freedom of assembly.

The police did not initially announce how many vehicles were in Ulm on Monday afternoon.

Criticism of the court's decision came from the CDU district association Alb-Donau / Ulm.

Aside from the traffic obstruction caused by the protest action, the court also disregarded the environmentally harmful aspect of such a motorcade in its decision.

"It remains to be hoped that this will be weighted more heavily in future events," says the corresponding message from Thomas Kienle, state parliament candidate of the CDU and chairman of the Christian Democrats in the Ulm municipal council.
