As the number of covid tests has increased, so has the amount of garbage at the corona laboratory in Falun. Lots of samples and infected material are waiting to be disposed of properly in the corridors. - Large parts of the lab are affected when we have this influx of samples, says molecular biologist Karin Elving.
These include samples and infected material that must be taken care of in a special way, through so-called autoclaving.
An autoclave is a form of pressure cooker where chemicals, plastics, textiles, glass and metal products can be sterilized.
That type of handling does not have time - and instead the rubbish piles up in the corridor.
