The first murder occurred in Russia due to a quarrel over the obligation to wear masks against the Coronavirus.

According to the Russian "Vesti" agency, the murder suspect after a quarrel over a mask on a minibus near St. Petersburg was sent to a pre-trial detention center, which is due in two months.

Alexei Verbitsky, 40, of Orenburg, will remain in prison until at least January 18.

Late in the evening of November 17, the victim was the deputy head of the “Rzhevsk Research Center for Examination of Helmets and Body Armor” Andrei Khaborsky, 53, who was returning to Moreno by minibus.

Before departure, Andrei Khaborsky made a note of a couple who were sitting without medical masks;

A clash ensued, during which the victim slapped Verbitzky, who jumped from his seat and rushed behind the victim, and his 34-year-old girlfriend followed him.

There was a short fight on the street, but Verbitsky, who had previously been convicted of drug trafficking and causing serious bodily harm, not only hit the victim with his fists, but pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim with it.

Later, the blow turned out to be fatal, although Khaborsky was able to walk a few hundred meters.

The attacker and his girlfriend disappeared, and a day later, they were detained in a rented apartment about three kilometers from the crime scene.

The woman is the main witness in the case.
