Thalys attack: Account of the attack foiled by three Americans in August 2015 -

Four men, involved in the attack on a Thalys connecting Paris to Amsterdam in August 2015, have been appearing before the special assize court since Monday.

During this attack, foiled by three American soldiers on the train, two people were injured.

Since the start of the trial, many survivors have been heard by the court, including one of the three American soldiers, Aleksander Skarlatos, thanks to whom the attack was thwarted.

End of trial on December 17

Ayoub El-Khazzani, who opened fire inside the train, responds to "attempted assassinations in connection with a terrorist enterprise" and "criminal terrorist association".

This Moroccan citizen, then 26 years old, was acting on the instruction of Abdelhamid Abaaoud, coordinator of the terrorist cell that struck France and Belgium in 2015 and 2016. He is due to appear in court on November 25.

He faces life imprisonment.
