The Seine-Saint-Denis security and intervention company (CSI), whose authorities had announced the dissolution after the discovery of a vast scandal, will be reorganized on January 1 by being now commanded from Paris, said this Saturday the Paris police headquarters.

The "major change" of this new organization is that the CSI 93 "will pass under the operational command of the head of the CSI 75", detailed the prefecture.

The Seine-Saint-Denis company is targeted by around fifteen investigations for theft, violence, drug possession and forgery in public writing.

Four agents were indicted in July, which led the prefect Didier Lallement to announce the “dissolution” of the company.

For the prefecture, the reorganization decided on is akin to a “dissolution” “in the sense that the missions and the organization” of the unit “will completely change”.

Merger

The reform also provides that the CSI 75 and 93 “act in a more interdepartmental framework than today”, in particular in the north of Paris where a “continuity of delinquency” can be observed on both sides of the peripheral.

The CSI 93 “Operational Support Group” (GSO) and CSI 75 will also be merged to form a common operational support unit.

The 150 or so CSI 93 agents will remain based in Aulnay-sous-Bois.

A “twenty” police officers, including the four indicted who are under judicial supervision and have been banned from practicing, will also have left the CSI at the end of the year.

"But the majority of these twenty are not implicated", specified the prefecture.

CSIs are police services operating at the department level.

They participate in securing neighborhoods and can also carry out law enforcement missions.
