Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Several hundred people protested on Saturday against planned new construction projects and displacement under the motto “Walk of Shame” in the Hamburg district of St. Pauli.

According to the police, around 600 people took part in the demonstration in the afternoon, 200 were originally expected. The protest march was initially peaceful.

The final rally was announced for 7 p.m.

The demonstrators wanted to follow the “trail of money” and start projects they criticized, the organizers said.

Above all, they named the location for the planned new building project Paulihaus at the Rindermarkthalle and the Sternbrücke, which the Hamburg Senate wants to replace and which, from the point of view of the demonstrators, does not fit into the surroundings.
